Default Help with new site needed...

Hi, I recently let you know about the website I had built for my print business (Richard Uttley Print & Marketing) and would like to thank all that replied with advice and I have taken on board some of your suggestions and although not yet fully complete I think i'm finally there. You can view the site if you want to see the progress at Richard Uttley Print & Marketing

Which brings me to my next cry for help...

I thought I'd try and get a UK freebie site going and so designed a basic site, found lots of freebies and chucked in a couple of affiliate links to try and get a few pounds back (we all live in hope) but most of all wanted to have some fun. If anyone has a good understanding for freebie sites or just a keen eye for a website maybe you could take a look, let me know what you think or where you think I could go with it I would be forever greatful. Also, if anyone knows of any good freebies for the site, that too would be great. You can view the site at Best UK Freebies

Thanks in advance,

Richard

I'm still impressed by the amount of services you offer!

Freebie Site: I like the idea of the freebie site, a couple of things about the look of it.....could you possibly add a slight colour behind the seperate columns (and a different one for the ads at the side), at the moment they all seem to blend together and looks like a lot of reading. I'm also very aware of the union flag in the background and on your header, I know this is a small thing, but many people still associate this with the bnp or skinheads, just something to think about. Finally there are a few textblocks that are overlapping.

Why did you add sound to the site? I know a lot of people are stopping doing this because people surfing find it annoying.

Sorry if I've been overcrtitical, just trying to give you some honest feedback. I like your personal site, and think that this freebie site would be a good chance to show off your skills as a designer.

Default Thanks...

I know what your saying about the music in the background, I wrote it on Reason and tried to be layed back about it so hopefully it wouldn't annoy surfers but we'll see how that one goes, other than that I really take in everything you say and I had no idea text blocks were overlapping so I'll have to try and sort that out - thanks for all your input, its appreciated.

Richard

No problem. I'm glad my opinions didn't offend.
