Hi I set up my mobile hairdressing business in july 07 currently I have been keeping reciepts for everything! Does anyone know what i can actually claim for through my business, mobile phone, petrol, stock, possibly car repairs. Any suggestions?
Also I have been told I cant claim for workin tax credits because im not a mother and im not 25 till march?? |

if the bills are related to your business generally you need to keep all reciepts. this way you can minimise your tax bill by lowering your taxable profit(revenue less costs). hmrc can ask to see eveidence of your accounts, so be safe not sorry.
you will probably want to pay yourself a mileage allowance for using your personal car - the governments limit is around 40p per mile. but you can only claim up to 10,000 miles through this method. not sure on the rules for working tax credits, sorry. Geoff |
